
The iconic ivory pleated dress that the actress Marilyn Monroe wore at the movie "The Seven Year Itch" (1955) for the scene at the subway, created by the american costume designer William Travilla, was sold for US$4,6 million at the auction at Calabasas, California.
Travilla is best-known for dressing the sex-bomb in eight of her films, not only making her look gorgeous, but glamorous. Once she wrote to him : "Billy Dear, please dress me forever. I love you, Marilyn".
